Biography

Alex Gertschen, born in Bern in 1979, is a scholar with a strong vocation to connect academia with government, business, and civil society. He works as an Associated Researcher at the University of Bern, and as lecturer at the University of St. Gallen and the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons.

The topics of his expertise are sustainable development and corporate social responsibility, with a special focus on tourism and Latin America. Gertschen earned his PhD in Economic History at the Philipps University Marburg, Germany. Besides his academic activities, he works as an independent consultant (www.alexgertschen.com).
