Advertiser of the year

From Werbewoche

Dennis Lück received the “Advertiser of the Year” trophy “Egon” on 18 May 2017 as part of the “Advertising Day” at the Zurich X-tra. The award was presented by Werbewoche editor-in-chief Anne-Friederike Heinrich. The Werbewoche presented the award for the 40th time in 2017. “Dennis Lück is an exceptional case in many respects,” said Werbewoche editor-in-chief Anne-Friederike Heinrich.

“He is the first German among 40 ‘Advertisers of the Year’ to date, he is the cheerful one among the stressed out, the tattooed one among the management members, the man who believes in unicorns and loves alliterations, and the successful advertiser who leaves the office early in the evening not to miss the cuddly appointment with Ludwig, Lisbeth and Louise at home. Despite the high-calibre competition, Dennis Lück emerged as the winner early on in the voting process. Voter turnout this year was higher than ever before.

Dennis Lück began his professional career as a translator at Thyssen Krupp Automotive Italia in Turin. In 2002 he was admitted to the world of advertising as a text intern at Scholz & Friends in Hamburg. After four years he was appointed Creative Director, and four years later the then 32-year-old Lück was promoted to Managing Director. In 2010 he moved to Switzerland and joined Scholz & Friends Zurich. Within one year, he built up this agency into a team of almost 70 people. At the end of 2011, he took over the creative management of FCB Zurich – the agency that he transformed into a creative hotspot and ranked number 1 in the creative ranking.

In 2016 he moved to Jung von Matt/Limmat, where as Chief Creative Officer he is responsible for the creative output of the agency. One of Lück’s tasks is to further shape the agency’s cross-media claim. The media, from Tagesanzeiger to Schweizer Illustrierte, describe Lück as “the most creative and successful advertiser in Switzerland”. He was named “Advertiser of the Year” in 2017. He lives with his wife and three children in Wohlen AG. In his spare time he plays drums in a punk rock band.
