Born in 1971 in London, Kazi lives in Zurich and Vienna. From 1992 to 1999 he studied architecture at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich and at Columbia University in New York. In 1999 he graduated under Hans Kollhoff at the ETH and then worked for Adolf Krischanitz in Vienna. In 2001 he travelled for several months through Iran, Egypt and Turkey and then founded his own architecture office in Zurich.
He has been a visiting critic at universities and a jury member internationally. Major projects include the School Center Fagen in Bolzano (2001-2009), the LEE Building of the ETH Zurich (2007-2015) and the new building project for the Cantonal Hospital St.Gallen and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Switzerland (2009-2027). His work has been exhibited and published widely.
