She is advancing leadership, diversity, & inclusion as business imperatives

Janina Kugel

Chief Human Resources Officer, Siemens AG, Munich, Germany

Why you should listen

Not one to shy away from voicing her opinions, Janina Kugel is a force within the business community in Germany and beyond. She pushes for change in organizations that still think and work in silos or monocultures. Janina is a strong believer that a diverse workforce – a business imperative as opposed to a nice-to-have – effectively drives competitiveness and innovation. She is convinced that more diverse teams deliver better results. Diversity is not just about gender, cultural background or age, but also about cognitive diversity – including people with different experiences, skills and mindsets on a team.

Janina studied economics at the Universities of Mainz and Verona and started her career in 1997 with Accenture. Since 2001, she has been working for Siemens in various management positions in China, Italy and Germany. She was appointed to the Managing Board in 2015 and has since been responsible as CHRO for about 380,000 employees worldwide.

Hear Janina speak at Worldwebforum 2020 about unleashing the real power of diversity in organizations.
