Not one to shy away from voicing her opinions, Janina Kugel is a force in the German business scene as she pushes for radical change in organizations who still think and work in monocultures. Janina is a strong believer that a diverse workforce– a business imperative as opposed to a nice-to-have– effectively drives competitiveness and innovation. She is convinced, the more diverse teams are, the better results they deliver and it’s not only about gender, skin color, age, but also about experience, skills, and mindset.
Janina studied economics at the Universities of Mainz and Verona and started her career in 1997 with Accenture. Since 2001 she has been working for the Siemens Group. She was appointed to the Executive Board in 2015 and has since been responsible as CHRO for 379,000 employees worldwide.
Outside Siemens, Janina holds positions as a member of the Practice Council of Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, Germany, and as a member of the University Council of the Technical University of Applied Sciences in Ingolstadt, Germany.

Janina Kugel has served as Member of the Management Board of Siemens Aktiengesellschaft since February 1, 2015. She is responsible for Human Resources, and has been Labor Director and Chief Diversity Officer at the Company.
She is also Member of the Equity and Compensation Committee at the Company.
She studied Economics at Universitaet Mainz and the Universita degli Studi di Verona and obtained Master of Economics degree. She served at Accenture, Siemens Communications, Siemens SpA and Osram GmbH.
She has been Member of the Practice Advisory Council at Hertie School and Member of the University Council at University of Applied Sciences Ingolstadt.
