A seasoned lawyer with 25 years of experience under her belt, Karen Silverman has represented the world’s top companies, including the US Department of Justice and the SEC. Her experience in private practice and government guides her work when advising companies during high-stakes corporate moves.
Karen has served in a variety of leadership roles. Her most recent, as Managing Partner of the San Francisco office of Latham & Watkins, LLP, the second largest law firm in the world.
Karen leads Latham’s partnership with the World Economic Forum’s Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, its work on a Board Toolkit for Artificial Intelligence, and related thought leadership projects. She currently sits on Latham & Watkins’ Finance Committee and co-chairs the IT industry group.
Over the past two years, she has obtained clearances for deals valued at over $40 billion. She is involved in early stages of deal planning, creating practical solutions for getting transactions done in complex and fast-moving environments, including in markets impacted by profound new technologies, such as algorithmic pricing, AI, AR/VR and autonomous agents.
She works regularly with a broad array of business advisors, bankers, economists and industry experts.
