Pal Erik Sjatil is the Managing Partner for McKinsey in Europe as well as a member of the firm’s Shareholders Council and global partnership service team. The focus of his client work has been on corporate strategy, operations, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational transformations.
Before stepping into the position of Managing Partner in Europe, Pal Erik led McKinsey’s office in Norway and served as managing partner of McKinsey’s offices in Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Russia/CIS, and Turkey.

Biography
Pal Erik is the managing partner for McKinsey in Europe as well as a member of the firm’s Shareholders Council and global partnership service team. He is an expert on global trends, digitization, telecommunications, and high tech, with a client portfolio that includes companies in the telecommunications, financial-services, and oil-and-gas industries. The functional focus of his client work has been on corporate strategy, operations, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational transformations.
Before stepping into the position of managing partner in Europe, Pal Erik led McKinsey’s office in Norway (2007–10), was part of the leadership team for the Scandinavian offices, led the office complex in Eastern Europe (2010–14), and served as managing partner of McKinsey’s offices in Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Russia/CIS, and Turkey (2014–18). In addition, he has held leadership roles in the firm’s Telecommunications, High Tech, and Strategy & Corporate Finance Practices.
Pal Erik served as an officer in the Norwegian Air Force before joining McKinsey.
