BIOGRAPHY

Simon Bosshart is a Swiss national, born in 1971, and grown up near Basel, Switzerland. He graduated from Berne and Zurich University, licentiate in Anthropology, Chinese, and Economics (Tourism). Simon, completed an Executive MBA in General Management at HWZ (Zurich) and Darden Business School (University of Virginia, VA).

From 2006 – 2013 he was based in Beijing (China) as Director China for Switzerland Tourism and since 2014 he is permanently based in Zurich, being in charge of all China regional markets (incl. Hong Kong). Simon is also Director Asia Pacific since 2011 and Director Global Accounts since 2013 for Switzerland Tourism. As Asia Pacific Director he is in charge of all Asia Pacific markets, i.e. China, Korea, Japan, Australia, South East Asia (Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia). He is also building up worldwide cooperation with globally acting travel enterprises, with a focus on product development and business facilitation (f.e. visa, air capacity, etc.), as a Director Global Accounts.

Simon is a married father of 2 daughters.

The marketing company Switzerland Tourism (ST) is a public corporation of the federal government.

According to the Federal Decree of 16 December 1994, the task of ST is the promotion of tourism demand for the holiday, travel and congress country Switzerland at home and abroad.

The development and implementation of demand-effective marketing programs and the profiling of the strong, classically modern Swiss brand in international markets are the focus.
